You might dismiss the time I watched him whip thousands of screaming teenagers into an ungodly hormanal frenzy when he was tour support for Ed Sheeran as nothing but vacuous pop, until, curiosity piqued, you listened to his album and EP and had to concede that maybe, just maybe, you were hearing something special.

I don’t know.

Now, having been in Australia for two whole weeks now, I’m disappointed to reveal that I’ve yet to see a wallaby, bandicoot, echidna, or a single (living) kangaroo. In fact, it was only 48 hours ago that I happened upon a boomerang and a didgeridoo. As you can probably imagine, I’m wildly disappointed about this. There is some comfort offered in the fact that I’ve seen a koala now, even if he was captive. And a bit sad about that.

However, there’s time yet, and a show tonight, another tomorrow, and more after that before I get back to London next week – but with the lush Nova’s Basement lasses to drink with (and boy can they), that time’ll fly. See you in a bit.

But it hasn’t all been hard work; I’m not going to lie – the awesome weather and delicious food almost absolutely compensate for the seriously overpriced beer.

Tomorrow, we set off to the town of Geelong on the first real roadtrippy part of the tour, followed by Lorne, Ballarat, Bendigo, Wangaratta, Canberra, Sydney, Armidale and finally Brisbane. The thing that makes Lulic really stand out is his extremely clever and intricate style of songwriting: at times, his music flows so effortlessly and freely that you’d think he had half a dozen records under his belt. Put simply, Antonio Lulic is a natural and i see nothing but great things ahead for him.
